The Deep End Storyboards
Here is the storyboard set I did for my Grad School application!
It is based off of a true story from a swim lesson I had as a kid, with a little more thrown in.
Oh hey, here’s a quick sample of the boards I am working on for my MFA application.
“The Deep End” is a story based off of a true story from a swim lesson I had, about something that lives in the pool.
“And I’ll bury you, my Billy”
“I’ll close your eyes, my Billy.”

I keep getting distracted from the next page, but at least this distraction is a productive one!
I’m storyboarding out an idea for a short film that is kinda autobiographical based off of how I felt about the deep ends of pools for the longest time, and why.
I’ll just say that this week while driving by a certain park I once had swim lessons at, i remembered something the lifeguards showed/told my class. Which had a class full of kids learning how to swim believing something specific lived in the deep end of pools :l
I finished that set of storyboards earlier today and spent most of the afternoon figuring out the layout they would go into for portfolio purposes. Here’s the last page of the portfolio stuff, complete with all my guides and stuff to make sure each page matched.
Now to put together a web version to stick on my carbonmade. If you want to see the full scene, I have it up on my carbonmade. I’m also thinking of making this an animatic.
